How to Fill Your Home with Fall Scents
For many people, fall is their favorite season. And we can see why. The weather is mild, trees become decorated with shades of yellow, orange, and red, and people are eager to partake in some of their favorite comfort foods. Delaware enjoys some of the most beautiful autumn seasons around, making your Handler Home the perfect place to take in all that fall has to offer. If you are eager to bring a little fall into your home, why not start with these suggestions!
Perfume Carpets
A great way to fill your home with fall scents is by working them into your carpets. Basically, all you need to do is mix a half cup of baking soda with a few drops of your favorite essential oils. Orange, vanilla, and cinnamon are all great candidates. Then sprinkle this mixture over your carpeted areas. Follow that up by running over the area with a vacuum. You’ll be left with a wonderfully cozy smell.
Simmering Pot
If you want your home to smell especially inviting for when guests are coming over, a simmering pot can help. All you need to do is simmer a pot of water over the stove along with your favorite aromas. You will be amazed by how something so simple can fill your entire home with comforting scents. One flavor combination you could try consists of a couple of cinnamon sticks, a clove of nutmeg, and some ginger. You can keep the pot simmering all night and just top the water off when it gets low.
Homemade Candles
If you have an afternoon that you would like to fill with a craft, creating your own custom candles is a great option. You can even get custom molds and make some interesting shapes if you want. But most importantly, you can create your own autumnal scents. Mix essential oils into your melted wax or add fresh ingredients like dried oranges or cinnamon sticks, or add both!
